Marketing Operations Specialist

The Marketing Operations Specialist is responsible for managing our email communication to the Aberdeen’s community database. Emails include promotions for upcoming webinars, content offers, surveys and weekly newsletters. The ideal candidate loves email and optimizing our marketing operations. You will own the email send schedule – ensuring that we’re communicating regularly and effectively with our reading audience.  


You’ll be working closely with the content marketing team, project management and research teams to help build email campaigns and refine the results.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Performs day-to-day email marketing activities including, but not limited to, email campaign set-up, scheduling, testing,deployment of emails, email database management activities, and maintaining the cleanliness the database.
  • Maintain and monitor email production and deployment calendars.
  • Collect and review email tracking data and conduct A/B testing to ensure emails are optimize for best results.
  • Build list to target email promotions to correct demographics.
  • Set-up nurture campaigns to grow our reader community, monitor regularly and optimize based on results.


  • 2+ years marketing experience in office environment
  • Experience with Pardot preferred (experience with other marketing automation systems is fine – as long as you’re a quick learner)
  • Experience with using and managing CRM systems
  • Basic email HTML knowledge a must to update and build templates
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver
  • Attention to details and good organizational skills
  • Experience working with databases and segmentation
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and request, and manage time accordingly
  • Quantitative skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced professional environment that prides itself on creating high quality content
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities at once. Solid project management skills, deadline orientation, and a "get it done" attitude.
  • Ability to work independently; but also must be a teamplayer - this role has a good chance of both.
